India vs Afghanistan 1st T20I: The Indian team has beaten Afghanistan in the first T20I match held at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi by seven wickets. After winning this match, India leads 1-0 in the three-match T20I series.

With a target of 157 runs, India chased down this target in only 13.4 overs. Abhishek Sharma was the leading batsman in the Indian team and scored 82 runs off 32 balls. Abhishek’s attacking batting brought success for India and dominated the middle overs of the game.

During the course of chasing the total, India had to lose a few wickets which included Ishan Kishan. However, because of a fast start and scoring rate, the Indian team had no pressure throughout the chase and this inning of Abhishek was the main reason behind this win.

In the earlier part of the match, Afghanistan scored 156/8 in 20 overs after winning the toss and deciding to bat first. Arshdeep Singh was the most successful bowler for India in this match who took 3 wickets with 19 runs conceded. In addition to that, Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakaravarthy and Axar Patel also got one wicket each.

It was quite difficult for the Afghan team to develop a good partnership against the Indian bowling attack, even though they scored 156 runs, as it was not sufficient on a flat pitch of Delhi with shorter boundaries, which were favorable to bat.

India have always proved to be dominant against Afghanistan in international cricket, and this particular match has also shown that how far both teams are from each other in international cricket. The Indian batting attack utilized the condition properly and won the match by achieving the target easily.

This series of three matches of T20I is taking place in India, even though Afghanistan is considered as the host nation of this bilateral series. Now Afghanistan needs to play well and win the next match after losing the first one convincingly.
