Kumar Vishwas reveals the thought behind the first song from Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana
Release Of The First Song From Ramayana ‘Jai Jai Ram’
The eagerly awaited music venture of Ramayana has finally kicked off with the release of its first song, ‘Jai Jai Ram’. The devotional number is already gaining popularity due to its soulful melody, great vocals and spiritual nature. The music of the song has been composed by AR Rahman and the song has been sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal. The lyrics of the song have been written by noted lyricist Dr Kumar Vishwas. Ramayana is an extremely ambitious film directed by Nitesh Tiwari. This film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash and Sunny Deol in lead roles.
Interpretation of “Jai Jai Ram” by Kumar Vishwas
Speaking about the song, Kumar Vishwas clarified that the song was never meant to be another devotional song. Rather, he said, people should find the prayer in themselves through the emotions conveyed in the song’s lyrics. Vishwas has made sure that the core of the prayer is kept very simple and understandable. People can relate to the song’s lyrics easily while interpreting emotions on their own. The devotion to Lord Ram in the song has added the devotional essence while the song’s composition by AR Rahman has added a cinematic element. Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal’s vocals have complemented the emotional essence of the song.
AR Rahman, Arijit and Shreya Join Forces
This combination of AR Rahman, Arijit Singh, Shreya Ghoshal and Kumar Vishwas has been one of the key aspects to talk about in connection with the song. Music by Rahman gives this track a grand and spiritual sound. On the other hand, vocal performances of Arijit and Shreya, who represent different textures of their voice, complement the theme of devotion. Moreover, lyrics by Kumar Vishwas strive to retain the core feeling of praying in the composition. This track is the first step of Ramayana’s music campaign, which makes it an important piece of the marketing process of the movie.
Kumar Vishwas Also Wrote ‘Jeetenge’
This is not the first time when Kumar Vishwas became connected to Hindi cinema as a lyricist. The earlier work of the artist included lyrics for the song 'Jeetenge' from Mission Raniganj. In the case of Ramayana, however, Kumar Vishwas became more noticeable due to the scope of the film and its importance.
Two Other Film Projects in Line
It has been reported that Kumar Vishwas is also involved with two other major film projects from Bollywood. His contributions are reportedly expected in their song lyrics and dialogue writing. His increasing involvement in films suggests that his writings are also getting more recognition in mainstream cinema. Though ‘Jai Jai Ram’ is bringing the connection between his writings and devotional songs into the limelight, the other film projects may bring out other aspects of his writings. As of now, the launch of ‘Jai Jai Ram’ has given the Ramayana film musical project a spiritual start. The song is composed by AR Rahman and has been sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal with lyrics written by Kumar Vishwas.
