Khatron Ke Khiladi 15: The newest episode of Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 kinda went sideways after a tough stunt left four contestants with visible wounds, and people online didn’t stay quiet. Many viewers lashed out on social media, saying it was "unacceptable", and basically wondering whether the whole thing crossed the line between entertainment and torture.
This controversial stunt had Shagun Sharma, Gaurav Khanna, Vishal Aditya Singh, and Karan Wahi involved. In the so-called “Pain Auction” task, the contestants were made to stand with their backs toward a shooter, who then fired rubber bullets at them, while they only had spine protectors and sleeveless vests on. Host Rohit Shetty then said that the firing would keep going until two contestants decided to quit the challenge. He also claimed that, each contestant got hit by something like 40 rubber pellets during the stunt. During the task, the contestants were seen wobbling a bit, trying to tolerate the agony as the shots kept coming from different distances. Shagun Sharma was the first one to bow out, then Gaurav Khanna followed. Vishal Aditya Singh and Karan Wahi however managed to finish the entire thing. Right after the stunt, the contestants shared that they had painful marks and bruising on their backs. Shagun later posted a video on Instagram and wrote, “I know what it looked like from outside. Still healing from what it felt like from inside.”Gaurav Khanna shared photos of his injuries on social media too, and he basically said it was the " most painful experience ever." In his words, the pain from the stunt felt even worse than the earlier neck injury he had. The whole thing then went viral fast, people online were saying they’re worried about how much suffering was actually involved. Some viewers kept asking why contestants are being pushed into such injuries, like for entertainment reasons only. A bunch of comments started pouring in like, “This is torture, not a stunt,” “Kya paagalpan hai ye ?” and “How is this even allowed ?” Honestly the platforms felt flooded. And several people said they felt uneasy watching the challenge, and that these kinds of physical trials shouldn’t be put into reality shows at all. Now this episode has sparked a broader argument, mostly around safety standards and where exactly to draw the line for tough physical challenges in reality television.
